General
1. What is VCT? The Visual Communications Tool (VCT Pro) is a software (add-in) for Microsoft PowerPoint.
VCT Pro offers a large variety of functions for the daily use and a wide spectrum of master templates enables you to create high-quality Microsoft PowerPoint presentations quickly.
VCT Pro presents more than 35 additional functions and shortcuts for 40 standard PowerPoint functions.
In addition our software provides in the standard version a vast gallery of graphics-templates (Visuals) of approximately 160 different diagrams, concepts, management frames, project charts, process designs, and static elements.
If you wish, an own CI-conform library can be integrated.

2. What is a software Add-In? An Add-In is an module to extend and upgrade existing software (here: Microsoft PowerPoint).
For this we use the existing resources of software by programming new functionalities for a better performance.
3. What is a Visual?
A Visual is a graphic template, that is placed over a dialog in the slide. The VCT Pro visuals contain in the standard version diagrams, concepts, management frames, project charts, process designs, and static elements.

For private customers we offer VCT Standard with lower functionality.

Installation
1. What are the system requirements for VCT Pro? VCT Pro is running on Microsoft XP (SP2, SP3), Vista and Windows 7also Windows Server 2003/ 2008.

2. How can I install the software? If you have received an e-mail with the download link, you download the installer program and start it per double-click.
Simply follow the instructions of the installer program. When PowerPoint starts first, the license key is asked. Just enter the license key you have received with your confirmation e-mail.

3. What could cause my license key to be invalid? If you receive an error message after entering of the license key, please make sure that there is no typing error and try again. If you receive another error message, please contact us at

4. What if VCT Pro is not available in PowerPoint 2003 after the setup process? First of all please make sure, that VCT Pro is properly installed. You can check it by screening the list of software installed on your computer.
If so, please open PowerPoint. Check, whether the entry “Help -> About VCT…” is available (for example, the license has expired).
Click in the “Help -> About VCT…”-Dialog on the button “Update…” for entering a new license key or license update. Else you perform the function “restart VCT”. If this function doesn’t exist, you have to install VCT Pro new.
If “restart VCT” fails, ckeck “Info -> Inactive Elements…” for VCT Pro and reactivate on demand.

5. What if VCT Pro
is not available in PowerPoint 2007 after the setup process? Open via office-menu the dialog “PowerPoint-options -> Add-Ins”. Here you can check whether VCT Pro is installed or not.
If “VCT.Addin” is found under section “inactive application-add-ins” you can reactivate it over “manage -> go to… inactive elements”.
Should “VCT.Addin” be listed under “disabled items”, it is possible to restart it over “manage -> go to… COM-Add-Ins”.

6. What if PowerPoint ist installe, but I can see only the Help-Button? If so, please open PowerPoint, click the menu entry “HELP -> About VCT”. You should find the licensing information there.
If it says “deactivated”, your VCT Pro installation is not active. Please Click on “Update…” and re-enter your license key. You can also activate your license per e-mail.

7. What if PowerPoint is not available anymore after the installation of VCT Pro? That should not be the case. The fastest and easiest way to get around is to uninstall VCT Pro and try to install it again. If you still have problems afterwards, please contact us to discuss the issue individually.
8. I get an error message "You still have PowerPoint open", but it's not visible.
Sometimes there is a dead POWERPNT.EXE process remaining in the system. If you start a new VCT Pro installation, VCT Pro terminates PowerPoint. You can also use the Task Manager to delete the PowerPoint process.

9. How can I uninstall VCT Pro?
Use the Windows System Control Panel, "software" (under XP), “programs and functions” (under Vista/ Windows 7) to uninstall VCT Pro. It's also possible to disable the add-in from within PowerPoint (look for COM-Addins).

10. My Administrator has locked System Control Panel ->"software" on my computer !
You can VCT uninstall as follows: Run “Uninstall.exe” in the VCT Pro installation folder.

Functions
1. How does VCT Pro work? VCT Pro functions are accessible via the PowerPoint menu called "VCT" or via respective shortcut icons in PowerPoint 2003. In PowerPoint 2007 there is a tab “VCT”. For details on all functions provided with VCT Pro please refer to our Help file.

2. Does it work with all Microsoft Office versions? VCT Pro supports Microsoft Office 2003, 2007 and 2010. A migration form Office 2003 to 2007 or 2010 will be free of cost during the validity period of your VCT Pro license.

3. Can I open my presentations without VCT Pro? That's no problem at all. All slides you created with the help of VCT Pro will be visible and exchangeable with any other user.
